Patrick Achi

H.E. Patrick Achi has recently assumed the role of Minister of State and Senior Advisor to the President. Previously, he served as Prime Minister of the Republic of Ivory Coast from March 2021 to October 2023.

Before his tenure as Prime Minister, he held the position of Secretary General of the Presidency and Executive Secretary of the National Council for Economic Policy (2017-2021), where he was instrumental in crafting the Vision 2030 Strategic Development Plan, a blueprint focused on fostering economic growth, enhancing food security, promoting youth employment, developing human capital, and advancing environmental sustainability.

From 2000 to 2017, H.E. Achi served as Minister of Economic Infrastructure, overseeing the planning and implementation of critical national infrastructure projects, including roads, water systems, ports, airports, and railways, thereby significantly contributing to the nation's development. His distinguished public service journey began in 1998 as an advisor to the Prime Minister's office, where he led transformative reforms in the cocoa sector, a cornerstone of the national economy that supports over 1 million farmers and accounts for 15% of the country's export revenue. In 1999, he also advised the Minister of Energy on the modernization of the electricity sector, further demonstrating his expertise in strategic policy and governance.

H.E. Achi continues to play a pivotal role at international, national, and regional levels. He currently serves as an External Advisor to the Bretton Woods @ 80 Initiative, a Board Member of the World Bank Council on Jobs, an Executive Board Member of the ruling party (RHDP), a member of the Ivorian Parliament, and President of the La Me Regional Council. In addition, he recently served as a Senior Fellow at the Center for International Development at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

He holds a Master of Science in Management from Stanford University, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Ecole Superieure d'Electricite de Paris, a bachelor's degree in physics from Universite de Cocody in Abidjan, and a Certificate in Economics from the University of Paris 1 - Sorbonne.

Sri Mulyani Indrawati

Born in Tanjung Karang, Bandar Lampung on August 26, 1962, Sri Mulyani Indrawati earned her bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Indonesia (1986). Then she continued her studies at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, United States and earned a Master of Science of Policy Economics (1990). In 1992, she earned a Ph.D. in Economics.

Because of her expertise in the monetary economy and banking as well as labor economics research, she was chosen to be the Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), representing 12 countries in the Southeast Asia (SEA Group) in November 2002.

In December 2005, she was appointed to serve as the Minister of Finance of Indonesia. During her first term, Sri Mulyani stabilized the macroeconomy, maintained prudent fiscal policy, reduced cost of loans, successfully managed sovereign debt, and built trust with investors. In September 2006, Sri Mulyani was recognized as the most effective Minister of Finance in Asia at the World Bank and IMF's Annual Meetings in Singapore. In 2007, she was recognized as the 2nd most influential woman in Indonesia by Globe Asia Magazine. In 2008, Forbes Magazine recognized her as the 23rd most influential woman globally. In 2008, she served as the Acting Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs after her predecessor was inaugurated as the Governor of Bank Indonesia. In 2010, she was appointed as an Executive Director at the World Bank.

In July 2016, Sri Mulyani returned to her role as Minister of Finance after President Joko Widodo inaugurated her to his Working Cabinet. In February 2021, she was elected Co-Chair of the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action (CFMCA) 2021-2023. The coalition is a forum that aims to support the collective efforts of finance ministers of member countries to use fiscal policy, public financial management, and mobilization of climate change finance to encourage climate change action at the domestic and global levels. 

In October 2021, she received the Distinguished Leadership and Service Award from The Institute of International Finance. This award is given to individuals who have made outstanding and consistent contributions to the global economy and financial system through their leadership.
In December 2023, Sri Mulyani received an honorary Honoris Causa Doctor of Laws from the Australian National University (ANU) to recognize her contribution and hard work in economic development, both in Indonesia and at the international level.

In October 2024, she was inaugurated as the Minister of Finance under President Prabowo Subianto's administration, where she currently serves. This marks Sri Mulyani's fourth term as Minister of Finance across different cabinets.

Mark Malloch-Brown

Mark Malloch-Brown has had a long career in international affairs, development, business, and communications. At the United Nations, Mark Malloch-Brown led the global promotion of the UN Millennium Development Goals as head of the UN Development Programme (UNDP). At the UNDP, and previously as vice president of external affairs at the World Bank, he led reform efforts to increase the impact of both organisations. He later served as Kofi Annan’s chief of staff, and then as UN Deputy Secretary General, before joining the British government of Prime Minister Gordon Brown, as minister responsible for Africa and Asia from 2007 to 2009.

Most recently, he was president of the Open Society Foundations, the world’s largest private funder of independent groups working for justice, democratic governance, and human rights. Mark Malloch-Brown is a Visiting Professor in Practice at the London School of Economics (LSE), he was knighted for his contributions to international affairs, and is currently on leave from the British House of Lords.
